Most of the airlines flying to Lanzarote offer charter flights, however British Airways now operates scheduled Lanzarote flights, directly from London Gatwick. Iberia, the Spanish national carrier as well as Spanair and Air Europa also offer scheduled flights from mainland Spain.

With Lanzarote being a year round holiday destination you will usually find good availability on a flight to to the island for most of the year. Even in the peak summer season it is still possible to get a flight only deal to Lanzarote for a relatively low price.

The flight time to Lanzarote is around 4 Hours from northern Europe and with flights operating nearly every day, it is not usually too difficult to locate a suitable Lanzarote bound flight.

ONCE ARRIVED

Getting to your Casas del Sol Villa

Upon arrival at Lanzarote (Arrecife) airport you have three options which, apart from the taxi, you should arranged before your departure:-

Option 1: Taxi – There is no need to pre-book a taxi as you will always find plenty in front of the arrivals hall. Just mention Casas del Sol at Playa Blanca and they should take you directly to the reception where you can check-in and pick up the keys. A taxi costs 50€ to 55€ for 2 passengers.

Option 2: Transfer – We can arrange for somebody to pick you up from the airport and take you directly to the villa. The cost is 50€ which is payable in cash directly to the driver. You can also arrange for the return trip directly with the driver at the same price. The price includes up to 5 passengers.

There is also a UK based company called Resort Hoppa who operate a resort transfer service. Prices are around £15 per person. To use this you will need to pre-book your places on their website: www.resorthoppa.com 

Option 3: Self-Drive – We recommend that you pre-book your car and from our own experience have found ‘Auto Reisen’ (www.autoreisen.es) to be amongst the cheapest. If you have not pre-booked you will find several rental companies present at the airport. Directions

To exit the airport you will need to follow signs marked ‘SALIDA’ which means exit. Follow signs to YAIZA which is in the opposite direction to Arrecife. Keep following signs to YAIZA until you reach the town itself where you follow signs to PLAYA BLANCA. When you reach PLAYA BLANCA you will come to a roundabout with a petrol station. Go straight over the roundabout until you come to another one. Turn right at this roundabout going past the new bus station on your right. The entrance to Casas del Sol is the third turning on your right and is just before another roundabout.

As you enter Casas del Sol you will see a large palm tree in front of you, go around this and pull up outside the reception building. The reception staff will be aware of your arrival and will let you have the keys as well as show you how to find the villa. They will most likely ask for your passports to photocopy which is common procedure in Spain.

You may drive up to the villa to unload though afterwards your car must remain in the car park situated at the entrance. You can download a word document of the directions to print out here
